Welcome to the newly updated CAMERA. CAMERA2 now officially replaces version 1.3.X of CAMERA. CAMERA2 retains many of the key components of legacy CAMERA system, while adding significant new data query, analysis and sharing functionality. We will continue to migrate additional features from 1.3.x while working to add new features that enhance 'Advanced Microbial Ecology Research & Analysis'. We welcome your feedback and comments on this new version of CAMERA2

What's New in CAMERA 2.0?

• Rapid annotation of 454 and Sanger metagenomic datasets using flexible workflows
• Advanced dataset searching and retrieval based on environmental metadata
• Shared workspaces for collaborative projects
• User-defined annotation workflows
• User created blastable datasets

New Features

• Search bar added for an "All Categories" search
• Quick Navigation menu added
• New Oracle database backend
• Download link added for large RAMMCAP jobs
• New workflows added (454 duplicate clustering, QC filtering)

Known Issues:

• Legacy data
  - Old blast results and data from v1.3.2.x will be made available to CAMERA2 shortly.
• Browser Compatibility
  - IE8 has some display issues with the quick links and search bar display.
• RAMMCAP Annotation
  - filtering on e-value is incorrect for values without scientific notation
  - sorting on e-value is currently in alpha and not numeric order
  - sorting on functions column groups by case sensitivity

Legacy

CAMERA2 is now the official version of CAMERA. Version 1.3.x has been officially deprecated and can be accessed at legacy.camera.calit2.net. However, it will no longer be available after March 31, 2011.

We encourage you to migrate your data and perform your analysis on the updated and enhanced version. Any data generated on the legacy site after this release will not be available in CAMERA2.
